สถาบันอาณาบริเวณศึกษา มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ นำโดย ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ ดร.ธันยพร สุนทรธรรม ผู้อำนวยการสถาบันอาณาบริเวณศึกษา พร้อมด้วย รองศาสตราจารย์ สีดา สอนศรี ที่ปรึกษากิตติมศักดิ์สถาบันอาณาบริเวณศึกษา คุณจารุกิตติ์ ปรีชาชาญพาณิชย์ ผู้อำนวยการศูนย์อาเซียนศึกษา คุณศรีสองรัก ชัยสิทธิ์ ผู้อำนวยการศูนย์เอเปคศึกษา และ คุณกุลธิรัตน์ ภควัชร์ไกรเลิศ ผู้อำนวยการศูนย์ศึกษารัสเซียและเครือรัฐเอกราช เดินทางเข้าพบ คุณสุนทร ชัยยินดีภูมิ นายกสมาคมอาเซียน-ประเทศไทย และ คุณสุวนิจ สมบัติพิบูลย์ ผู้อำนวยการบริหารสมาคมอาเซียน-ประเทศไทย ณ ที่ทำการสมาคมอาเซียน-ประเทศไทย
ในการนี้ ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้ร่วมแลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็นและหารือแนวทางความร่วมมือทางวิชาการ ตลอดจนการจัดกิจกรรมที่เกี่ยวเนื่องกับ วาระครบรอบ 60 ปีแห่งการก่อตั้งสมาคมประชาชาติแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ (อาเซียน) รวมทั้งการเตรียมความพร้อมในโอกาสที่ประเทศไทยจะดำรงตำแหน่ง ประธานอาเซียน (ASEAN Chairmanship) โดยมุ่งส่งเสริมความร่วมมือด้านการศึกษา การวิจัย และการแลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้เกี่ยวกับภูมิภาคอาเซียนร่วมกัน
การหารือครั้งนี้นับเป็นก้าวสำคัญในการเสริมสร้างเครือข่ายความร่วมมือระหว่างสถาบันอาณาบริเวณศึกษา มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ และสมาคมอาเซียน-ประเทศไทย อันจะนำไปสู่การพัฒนากิจกรรมทางวิชาการและการสร้างองค์ความรู้ด้านอาเซียนอย่างเป็นรูปธรรมและยั่งยืนในอนาคตต่อไป

Thammasat Institute of Area Studies, Thammasat University, led by Assistant Professor Dr. Thanyaporn Soonthornthum, Director of the Thammasat Institute of Area Studies, together with Associate Professor Sida Sonsri, Honorary Advisor to Thammasat Institute of Area Studies; Mr. Jarukit Preechachanpanich, Director of the ASEAN Studies Center; Ms. Srisongruk Chaiyasit, Director of the APEC Study Center; and Ms. Kulthirath Pakawachkrilers, Director of Russian & CIS Studies Centre , paid a courtesy visit to Mr. Soonthorn Chaiyindeepum, President of the ASEAN-Thailand Association, and Ms. Suwanit Sombatpiboon, Executive Director of the ASEAN-Thailand Association, at the Association’s office.
During the meeting, both parties exchanged views and discussed avenues for academic cooperation, as well as collaborative activities related to the 61th Anniversary of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). Discussions also focused on preparations for Thailand’s future role as Chair of ASEAN (ASEAN Chairmanship). The dialogue aimed to strengthen cooperation in education, research, and knowledge exchange on ASEAN-related issues.
The meeting marked an important step in enhancing institutional collaboration between the Institute of Area Studies, Thammasat University, and the ASEAN-Thailand Association. This partnership is expected to foster sustainable academic activities, research initiatives, and the advancement of ASEAN-related knowledge and expertise in the years to come.
