Asia-Pacific Region, particularly the Pacific Rim, indisputably, will be the most exciting area in the world for the next century. The Asia-Pacific Region has become increasingly important in a relatively short period of time. The region now accounts for more than half of global economic activity. Trade and development have given rise to increased international economic cooperation, ranging from small regional forums to largescale collaborations such as APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation). Politically, this region is characterized by the interplay of regional powers with the overlapping interests of the dominant world superpowers - China, India, and the United States. Conflicts of interest among countries are certain and will be intensified. Regional conflicts are becoming more intense and extremely complex as all major countries in the world are eyeing and trying to widen their sphere of influence over countries in this region.
In addition, this is one of the most culturally diverse regions in the world. Not only conflicts but also attempts to integrate and collaborate for peace and prosperity are found everywhere. Thus, it is important for us to understand the multidimensional and dynamism within this vibrant region.
